I miss you, Knowles!

Made it to Nashville on Monday night. Met up with Buddy at the airport. Got picked up by Derrick Brown.
Made some hang with Dan Leamen, Derrick and his Lady Valentine. We ate some sweet-ass food at the Alley Cat restaurant, then we picked up Anis Mojgani and headed home.
We’ve been staying at his now-sold house in Spring Hill, annoying each other and making lots of noise, trying to get the last minute show touches…touched.
Wednesday we rounded up JW Baz and got some eats. Then we went to the Exit-In in Nashville to watch Derrick and Valentine’s group Spring Hill Spider Party. Imagine dance pop Berlinashville style. They opened for a pretty mediocre comedian, and should have definitely closed out the night. The comic “headliner” seemed to lose the people SHSP brought in. He did racial jokes and airline humor. Total new and edgy stuff…nicht!
Today we checked into our first hotel (cuz D&V closed on their house today! Yay for them!) and are rehearsing like bitches.
Derrick flew to L.A. overnight to perform on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno with the Cold War Kids, then we meet up with Valentine to watch him on the telly. You should too!
Then we head out to our first show in Atlanta.

I love you, Knowles!

Here is Derrick tossing a horseshoe in his now former backyard in Spring Hill, Tennessee.
Here’s Buddy giving Dan what-for on the science of shoe-in’. How about that backdrop!
Here’s the guys dancin’ the night away to Derrick and Panda’s sweet ass group, Spring Hill Spider Party. They played a rockin’ set at the Exit-In in Nashville. We had to get up and shake some of our collective booties.

Hey, all.
A few weeks ago, Derrick C. Brown – badass poet and friend – fell inexplicably ill and was rushed to the hospital. They are still doing test to figure out what caused his illness, which means his medical bills are and have mounted and he is swamped with having to empty his wallet more than most people would enjoy doing.
You can help Mr. Brown by checking out his two sites and buying some of his products or donating money directly to him via PayPal.
WriteBloody.com – You can donate loot via the Donation link at the top right. BrownPoetry.com – You can read and hear Derrick and make purchases of some of the greatest poetry products of all time!
Derrick is a good guy and deserves as much help as possible. When he and I were in Paris together, I drank from a public fountain and received dysentery for my lack of patience and bottled water. Derrick took very good care of me the whole time.
Let’s take care of Derrick Brown.
