I am at home with the MacMillans in Worcester. Man-alive! I love these guys so much. It’s amazing how much bigger Lib is every time I come through! I think he will be taller than me in a couple years. Everyone out grows me – vertically. Whoa. I met him when he was five! I am currently lounging with cats. An 80+ pound clowder of felines.
Went to Bobby Gibbs’s show last night. So good. He puts on one of my favorite open mics. Worcester has one of my favorite scenes and groups of people. Warm, tough and lovers of quality work.
Boston Cantab’s April Ranger was the feature and her work is extraordinary. Had us old slammers laughing and ohh-ing throughout her set. She’s stunning and fun. Funningly sweet.
Oh, Worcester! Were Boston to attack you in an act of war, you’d eventually fall, but only to the numbers, and never before their spouses and mates had dirty, wicked sex with you first. You’re James Coburn. You’re Steve McQueen. You’re that guy laughing at the sermon in church. You’re mint and cherry. You smoke a pipe, holmes. You’re sending your son to college and all he packed for clothes were your original new wave t-shirts and your dad’s slacks and kilt. You’re a neutrino. I like you. Just so you know.

Tonight: Manchester, New Hampshire’s poetry series at The Bridge Cafe. I love those guys too.

I miss my Philly and Boise ladies: Jane, Amy, Cheryl, Janelle, Tara, Kristen and Isaac (by default). Isaac = Sexy Fluids.
Jane and Amy of Philly are the best reason to be in Pennsylvania. Cheryl,Janelle, Tara, Kristen and Isaac make up an extraordinary Boise, Idaho scene. You guys are family. I love you all dearly.

I’m going to be at Central Michigan University next week, near Lansing. If you’re in the area, lemme know.

Amazing Artist: James Jean –––> http://www.jamesjean.com
(Thanks to reneemarie.vox.com for introducing me to him. Her site is also pretty sweet.)
Here’s a sample of James Jean’s work:

Am very much hoping we’ll get to your show on Saturday. Are you around on Sunday night as well, or will you be back on the road by then?
How I love that neck of the woods up there!
(And you, and you, and you)

~srm
I may head to Boston for the day on Sunday. Not sure yet. I will post my whereabouts no matter what.
Oh, Miss G! < --- Hey, that could be what OMG! stands for!
I miss you. Miss. You. The weather here is stunningly exceptional. I rarely hit Massachusetts in good weather, just in good spirits.
I hope you are in them as well.
I know! His science is fucking tight. And it’s funny that you commented on him – I had a sneaking suspicion that were already a fan of his. When looking at his sketch work, I thought of your work. I actually thought: I bet Anis likes Jean’s lines. I love his lines.
Miss you, hairface.
Yes! Yes. And Yes? No, Yes; certainly.
So much love to you Mike.
AND THAT JAMES JEAN IS ROCKIN’ MY SOCKS!
I thought peeps my dig Mr. Jean. He’s got me eyeball-dizzy.
Hug the kids for me (that includes Mark) and then hug yourself.
whoa thank you
That painting is amazing. I’m glad you posted the piece and the link.
That thing looks like a labrinyth.
Which makes it an even cooler picture.
You are absolutely right – Worcester is Steve McQueen. Of all the parts I love about the east, Worcester is my favorite.
Of all the parts of Mike McGee I love, you’re my favorite.
just kidding. i mean, yes, all of that. but also, it’s me.
x.
Missing you like a bear misses his moose! I am going to send you the pix from last weekend, can you send me the one’s you took?
Re: whoa thank you
I’m glad to see you on my journal, miss. I wish to get out your way soon. Who am I to contact to make my poetry happen where you are?
I adore the maze.
Oh, mama. I do hope the NW is treating you with a reasonable facsimile of the goddess you are.
Got your pix! I will send you mine as well. You are loved!
You know it. I miss your face – when are you back around, please?
>}:-D Lovely!
Happy Autumn! In great spirits here as it cools off.
I’m planning to get in on the group writing.Adore it like sugar cookies go with holidays.
Oy, I’m not sure what constant slams are going on around here anymore (since I’m not a constant slammer/slam fan anymore), but I recommend talking to my buddies, and Jess Standifird (@ ). Their respective e-mail addys are on their LJ profiles. =D I hope they can bring you out!
