So, now that I’m a bit more stable on the road, I wish to get my postcard mailing list up and running. I want it to be complex and time consuming. I want to be excited about communicating with people via snail mail.
Here’s my original post from May 2006 –––> http://mikemcgee.livejournal.com/82344.html
If you received a postcard from me last year, probably from Germany, it was because you sent me a postcard. I’ve brought all of those postcards with me to Chicago this week and will be re-entering them into my Postcard Mailing List Database, i.e. my MacBook’s Address Book.
If you would like to be added to the list…Here’s the NEW lowdown:
1. Send me a postcard with:
*one haiku, joke, or details about you
*your first and last name
*birth date
*a clear, permanent address or PO BOX.
2. Wait.
3. Postcards received by me will be responded to in due time, which is why you will want to give me a stable address.
4. If you’ve sent me a postcard in the past in which I never responded in kind, please bitch about it here or via email, while adding your current address.
5. If you’ve moved and I do not have your new address, please correct this here, or by email.
6. Postcards sent by me may be from one place in the world, but sent from another. I collect postcards and send them from different places. For example, I may send you an “I love Amsterdam” postcard from Reno, Nevada. The card was bought in Amsterdam, I just happen to have a plethora of them.
(If you’ve recently emailed me your address to my mightymikemcgee email account, you are set. I will no longer take addresses by email unless, of course, you’re updating the one I should already have.)
Please note my new mailing address:
Mike McGee
PO BOX 875
ALVISO, CA 95002
I INTEND TO CREATE A RECIPIENT LIST ON WHICH ONE CAN CHECK TO SEE IF THEY ARE ON IT, AND WHEN I’VE RESPONDED TO CARDS I’VE RECEIVED.
