A few weeks ago, Derrick C. Brown – badass poet and friend – fell inexplicably ill and was rushed to the hospital. They are still doing test to figure out what caused his illness, which means his medical bills are and have mounted and he is swamped with having to empty his wallet more than most people would enjoy doing.

Derrick is a good guy and deserves as much help as possible. When he and I were in Paris together, I drank from a public fountain and received dysentery for my lack of patience and bottled water. Derrick took very good care of me the whole time.
